This TT has been designed for yoga teachers ready to take the next steps in developing their teaching practice. Whether you have just completed your first 200 hour, or you have been teaching for a while but want to brush up on your skills - this TT will provide you with practical tools and knowledge to hone your craft as a teacher. The TT has a focus on cueing and sequencing to support teachers to deliver classes with clarity and confidence.
Routed in Vinyasa based practice, we will delve into how you can sequence based on different focuses (anatomical, set intention for the practice, reverse engineering a pose). You will learn how to adapt sequences for different levels of practice (beginner, mixed level, advanced). We will explore transitions, cueing complex poses and being inclusive as you deliver a sequence to your students.
We will look at what it means to give effective cues to students, that ensure that your class is clear and the students are with you as you move through the sequence. The TT is designed to improve your skills as a teacher, become confident in your delivery of a class and allow you to understand your teaching practice better to share with your students.
Through the TT you will learn how to:
be able to sequence logically, creatively and with your students experience at the forefront of your planning
become less reliant on physically demo-ing in order to deliver your cues/class and instead give clear, concise verbal instructions
teach from a place rooted in your knowledge and experience rather than feeling like you have to teach like other teachers
develop confident and consistent delivery for your teaching practice
We will also discuss interlinking topics such as:
how you might deliver your class to music
your role in the room as a teacher
what it means to lead a group of people who attend a class
how to teach if you are teaching your sequence through a specific lens (often vinyasa based practices can be called many different things - sometimes those are codified styles e.g. Rocket, RocketBeats etc, sometimes those are names we give them e.g. Strong Vinyasa, Yoga Flow etc)
typical challenges teachers face in cueing/sequencing and how to resolve them
drills (because this is a Practice with Ella training afterall)

A Note on Accreditation
My personal views on this date back to my first encounter of yoga with Ervin Menyhart. His teachings taught me to question and challenge accrediting bodies and what they are really offering. To quote London based studio Mission, who have put this succinctly:
"For 25 years, accrediting bodies in the UK and the US have kept a stranglehold on studios and teachers who have felt they have had no choice but to register their trainings with these bodies. Distant, uninvolved and self-appointed organisations are not the sole determinants of the quality of a training"Mission E1 on Yoga Teacher Trainings
Good quality teaching does not come from buying certificates or licensing from accrediting bodies. It comes from experience, a lifelong practice of learning and a dedication to the practice.
I have never known yoga employers or studios to refuse employment if you do not have Yoga Alliance registered trainings. Your employers will look at the people you have trained with, they will be interested in how well you teach and the level of experience you have as a teacher.

FAQS
Will I get a certificate for my teaching portfolio?
Yes
Will I be assessed?
There is no formal exam, progress will be demonstrated through group tasks and engagement with the TT material.
You teach RocketBeats, will this TT be in RocketBeats or Rocket? No, not specifically. RocketBeats is Ella's main teaching practice so she will share examples from this practice (because it is great and makes so much sense). RocketBeats is a version of a Vinyasa practice so can be applied to the TT as can other styles of vinyasa based practice. Bring the practice you teach, the learning can be applied to it.
Will I learn how to teach inversions & drills?
We will cover how to sequence and cue these within the context of the course content.
